Not recommended
Very bad experience, staff was not aware of our arrival. Dining area was not clean, generally the house was dirty, it is as the house was not cleaned before we arrived. We left without staying over.

We are disappointed that Yvonne and her partner were unhappy with Villa Victoria. When they arrived I had just popped out to buy flowers. One of my guests let them in to the resident's lounge and went to check if their room, the Bridal Suite, was in order which it was. When he returned a minute or so later they were walking out through the door. He asked if they were OK and they said they were just going for something to eat. He asked what time they expected to be back and they said between 6 and 7 PM. He phoned me and I was back a few minutes later but by then they had left. I tried to phone them but they were on voice mail. I left a message. They did not return.

Charming hostess and old-fashioned Victorian style
We attended a show at Carnival City, about 10 km from the guest house. The location is ideal for that.
We didn't know Benoni and thought it an unlikely location for a charming suburb and guest house. But this area surpassed our expectation. It is really beautiful and being boomed off, is also safe and secure. It is close to a bird sanctuary that is surrounded by the most incredible collection of luxury houses.
The gardens at Villa Victoria are beautifully kept. Wish we had more time to just soak up the beauty of the Victorian style garden. The garden is HUGE and so are the trees at the parking area.
The building is old and needs maintenance here and there, but it provides for a wonderful journey back to Victorian times. Most of the decor and furniture also match, or dates from, Victorian times. If you like that, you'll have a good time. If you don't, stay away. There is nothing modern about this place.
The best part was the hostess and owner, Annamari. Bubbling with enthusiasm and hospitality, she is the soul of Villa Victoria. Her spontaneity and humility added sparkle to the experience.
Annamari served breakfast on the patio and her friendly demeanour soon had us talking to the other guests over breakfast as well. The Victorian breakfast was splendid and even catered adequately for my wife who is very conscious of kilojoule intake.
If we were to attend another late show at Carnival City, we would certainly consider staying at Villa Victoria again.
