I enjoyed my stay its a beautiful and relaxably placed.

Comfortable but noisy accommodation
The owners of River Hill Lodge are very welcoming and have provided very comfortable, well appointed rooms. The bar area and pool has a beautiful view over the river. The units are all situated on or very near a railway line, and are only 500m from the N4 highway, so traffic and train noise is quite substantial. We were in lodge/room 3 which has the Jojo tank situated just behind it, during the day one is not very aware of the pump noise or the filling of the Jojo, but at night, every time anyone in the resort uses water, there is a very distinct noise of water swooshing into the Jojo tank (sounds like a toilet being flushed) combined with the whine of the pump while it switches on to fill the Jojo. It is possible that the noise from the Jojo does not affect the other units. While it is a comfortable stay, the noise factor would prevent us from returning.

This time of year when the wind blows from the N4 highway the heavy traffic to the Border can be noisy. The pressure pump which the guests also found to be a problem has already been resolved. The on/off of the pump was due to a very bad leak at a pipe fitting. Normally the pump very seldom goes on after 10:00pm because it only comes on after guests use water and by then most people are asleep. We apologise for this inconvenience.

River Hill Lodge was one of the most welcoming accommodation visited by me and my hubby. We were overwhelmed by the hostility received. Big up to Carol and Richard keep it up guys. What a wonderful place they have. Peaceful and clean. Good break away from home.

Overnight at River Hill Lodge
We stayed over at the lodge on 20/12/2012 on the way to Mozambique and again on 4/01/2013 on the way back home and had a great experience on both occasions. The hospitality is fantastic and the rooms are excellent. Richard and Michelle really know how to put their guests at ease on their break during the long journey.
