Paternoster Place

We enjoyed two nights in superb accommodation. Our room was very tastefully decorated and the bed was so comfortable. The garden is lovely too. It was just a short walk from the beach. Our only criticism of the place was that it was not easy to find and the house does not have a sign on it so there is absolutely no way to tell if you are at the right place. We had to ask someone. Apart from that, I would not hesitate to recommend it to our friends.

Pleasant place to stay close to the beach.

Our bad experience started when we got lost and could not find the place. We tried phoning the owner on both the landline and the cellphone, and there was no answer. Once we finally found the place (on our own), the owner showed us to our room. We were given no information about who we can contact if we have any questions, where we can find that person, etc etc. The owner then proceeded to leave the premises with her husband without informing us, and it was during this time that we realised we had been booked into the incorrect room. We had booked for Layla and we were put into Amber room. I looked for someone, anyone, to speak to about this error, and could only find the housekeeper who told me to phone the owner. I got hold of the owner, explained what had happened, and I was given the response "do I want a refund?". No apology. It was then implied that it was because we had booked so far in advance that she'd forgotten! (There was another couple booked into Layla).This was quite a slap in our faces as the reason we booked so far in advance was to ensure we got the room we wanted. Otherwise, what is the point? A booking is a booking regardless of when it is made. The room inside was also quite dirty and unkept in places. There was a plug with no cover, the bathroom door did not close properly, the bathroom fittings and accessories were dirty or non-existent, the cutlery and crockery were dusty, and the microwave had greasy fingerprints all over it. Not to mention the front door was so thin that you could see through it. On the morning of our departure, nobody came to ask us how our stay was, who to return the key to, etc. We had to go find some random door to knock on, and one of the owners came downstairs, didn't ask how our stay was or if there were any problems, and just took the key from us. There is a severe lack of pride and service at Paternoster Place, and it's such a pity because the place has so much potential. We will unfortunately not be returning to this particular establishment.

Thank you for the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful house. My husband and I felt welcomed and privileged to stay in House Simone. The House was well equipped, the lighting perfect for romantic rendezvous and in walking distance of the beautiful beach. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had a wonderfully blessed time in Paternoster.

What a lovely, comfortable and special time at Paternoster Place. My wife and I could easily spend 5 days there!

We had a lovely stay in Simone, very neat and clean. Was great to have Diesel and his team on watch. I would recommend Paternoster Place to anyone!
