Poorest service from a guest house i have ever received
I had made numerous calls prior to our arrival to ensure
that all was in order for our late arrival however even though i again called
10mins before arrival, we had to wait outside at 11pm for almost 20mins
for someone to open the gate.
We were eventually greeted by a lady who was unsure about
the bookings. We where placed in a room with one single bed and was expected to
sleep 4 adults there. At this point of numerous questions, she could not ensure us accommodation.
It was just after midnight that we were allowed to move to a
different room.
This was still not the correct accommodation we booked but
had no choice to rest there for the night.
I think this was of poor standing and i would not recommend
your accommodation to others due to my experience there.
To date I have sent numerous emails to the owners to which no one bothers to respond. I have even had a telephonic discussion with a man that claimed to be the husband of the guest house owner and said his wife was busy with an email to resolve the matter. it has far been past a month with no response.
I would not recommend this as a place to stay based on the pathetic service received.

Kenneth was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Bathroom had wonderful hot water. Breakfast was good and the cat was friendly. I would recommend them and make use of them myself in the future.

A clean, sufficiently appointed B&B. Unfortunately, the breakfast was not up to standard and for this very reason, we will not stay here again.

We are nearing 7 years of operation and not ever received a complaint regarding our breakfast. The morning in question was one of our busiest and their eggs had not been cooked according to their request - we immediately attended to their complaint and the resulting attitude was one of satisfaction, no mention of anything else being of 2 star Quality which surprised us.

Friendly and helpful
The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the stay. Beds were clean, bathroom was clean. We stayed there for one night as a stay-over before driving to our destination.

Like living in the years gone by, loved it!
We stopped over and stayed in the 'Manse' room; 184 years old, and absolutely beautiful. The owners were extremely friendly, helpful and had a wealth of knowledge of the history of the town and area. Breakfast was homely and delicious. Will definitely visit again.

Great Stopover
Very nice stopover from Johannesburg, and just what we needed after a long drive. Ken was very obliging, and told us where we could have dinner within walking distance. The breakfast was great. The room was comfortable and we slept very well. Will return if we are in that part of the world again.

Great stay
We had a great stay at Nanna Rous. Rosy and Kennith was very friendly and welcoming, just what you want after a long drive. Our room was big, clean, warm and cosy in a very cold Colesberg! They were very accommodating with our dog too. We had a delicious meal at Bordeaux Restaurant in town. The next morning Kennith quickly helped us get someone to fix our punctured tyre whilst we had a delicious English breakfast that Rosy (a superstar) made. A special thanks to Rosy who did our booking, took my phone calls, emails, checked us in and made breakfast! You are wonderful! We will definitely recommend you to all our friends and make use of you in the future!
