Very disappointing !!
The bed linen, pillows and duvet all must be so very old as they smell of stale human sweat. The pillows are very heavy so they must contain a huge amount of dust mites. I scratched and itched all day. It's such a shame as the location is very beautiful.

We received this negative comment with great shock and disbelief as we always ensure cleanliness of rooms and bedding and we do our best to make our guests feel at home and comfortable. We sincerely apologise to our guest for his discomfort of which we were not aware at the time and for which we were not able to find a cause except for a possible allergic reaction.
During our cold winters, we provide electric blankets and use winter sheets and feather/down duvets (lighter and warmer) and we also have a number of feather/down pillows which are heavier than normal pillows because they are stuffed to a certain weight to give enough support. Though they have been covered with a special micro-fibre material, they could cause an allergy. If a person indicates an allergy on the check-in form, we ensure that we do not use a room with feather pillows/duvets.
Few guests bother to comment when they enjoyed the stay but every guest who did not is bound to comment and the accommodation establishment is often the last to find out.

Absolutely shocking service. The old lady who is part of management was extremely rude and obnoxious. The two waiters were very good and tried hard. The food was good. So disappointed that an old country hotel could be so disinterested in their guests and so rude
