Fantastic accommodation in Franschhoek
We spent two nights at Mayflower Cottage, receiving a warm welcome after a long day's travelling. The log burning stove was lit and the electric blanket on! The cottage is beautifully decorated and opens onto the owner's garden which we were invited to use. It is a short walk to the centre of Franschhoek and close to the many restaurants and coffee shops. Cate (the owner) was very helpful in recommending places to dine and visit .... if only we had more time as this is such a beautiful area and there are so many lovely places to see. We highly recommend a stay at Mayflower Cottage.

Franschoek breakaway
Mayflower Cottage is a brilliant place to stay when visiting the Cape. It is very well situated in Franschoek very close to some of the best restaurants in the country if you do not want to cook yourself. The cottage is in a beautiful and peaceful garden where you can relax after a day of activities.
This is truly an owner run establishment and therefore the service is really very good.

A charming cottage
We had a lovely stay at Mayflower Cottage and heartily recommend it for anyone planning to visit Franschhoek. It's perfectly situated for those wanting to explore the winelands and we were very tempted to stay on for longer!

A haven of tranquility in the heart of winelands
We can't say enough about this place. The little cottage has everything and more than you need. We were a party of three. We were travelling with our six year old. There is a lovely little pool with slide and a wonderful little dog to round off the experience. For couples the bed is lovely, there is air-con and a great shower and a separate bath. The kitchen is equipped with everything you would require including the well needed corkscrew and wine glasses. Well you are in Franschhoek. A bonus for us was the lovely cool and private outside area and finding a caffitiere.

Its a gem
We just loved the cottage! Great atmosphere, very nicely decorated, no clutter. Comfortable bed and airco in the bedroom. With all the fantastic restaurants in Franschhoek we did not use the kitchen a lot bit everything you need is there including fresh herbs from the garden! The cottage is in Cates backyard but you have enough privacy and you feel secure. Cate, Tony ánd Maria are very welcoming hosts, warm and easy-going with lots of tips about where to go and what to do. If we go back to Franschhoek we will definitely try to stay there again.

Great place
What a charming cottage. Well furnished and clean, bonus that it is serviced! The garden is stunning.
Cate is a great host and even refunded us for some wine we had left behind in the cottage.
We would certainly recommend the cottage and hope to visit again one day.
It is better suited to two people though, bit cramped for three adults.

Lovely base from which to explore Franschhoek
The cottage is well appointed, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. The bed is good and will ensure a good night's rest. (The photos are very accurate.)
Cate and Tony are lovely and generous hosts. We had a lot of privacy despite the cottage being close to the main house, and had only very enjoyable exchanges with them. They are also full of information about the village and the valley, and are only too happy to share it.

Very beautiful
It is a very beautiful cottage. It is very clean and modern. Belinda made me feel very welcome and offered her assistance with any queries or requests. Although it was very cold, the heaters made it nice and cosy. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Perfect spot
Perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Mayflower cottage was delightful! Tastefully decorated, cosy and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful surroundings , the tranquility and that feeling of being in a country village. I would highly recommend it and will definitely be back for another visit.
