Kondensmelk - food for the soul!
Kondensmelk is a delightful little house, brimming with character and whimsical charm.
We visited in the heart of winter and kept our fireplace constantly burning and our wine glasses full to ward off the winter chill!
The house offers ample space and comfortable furnishings, all uniquely combined in a fun, quirky fashion.
The kiddies watched movies (as our drive plugged directly into the TV screen) and the ladies visited on the stoepie or around the lovely large kitchen table. The beds are comfortable, each with their own electric blanket and super cozy duvets, with odd bits and bobs of art and books scattered throughout the house - National Geographic and Time magazine enthusiasts will find endless joy in the collection.
The river is a stones throw away and definitely worth a visit. A lovely park is also just walking distance from the house and even a few of the grown ups had some fun there with the kids.
Parys itself, is a treasure trove of antique stores but also offers something of everything if antiques are not your cup of tea. There are also unique restaurants and eateries, where you can even have your photo taken with Al Capon or Marilyn Monroe!
We will definitely visit Parys again, and yes, we will definitely stay at Kondensmelk each and every time we find ourselves in Parys again!

'n Heerlike naweek van skoene uitskop en ontspan, lekker kuier en boeklees, is presies wat ons beplan het.
Kondensmelk het dit alles gebied, en nog meer...
Ons het heerlik op die stoep gekuier en in die Damcuzzi afgekoel terwyl die kinders hul TV programme op DSTV kon geniet.
Ons sal beslis weer 'n wegkom naweek na Kondensmelk beplan, dalk hierdie keer in die winter!

We had a wonderful weekend at "Kondensmelk".Was loveley to see the beautiful vaal again.Nice to get away from the rush and just to chill on the nice little house's "stoep",and cool down in the "damcuzzi " with family.Got wonderful friendly service from Zelda and her daughter,had everything we needed for our stay, lots of space for the kids to hang out and full dstv for when they just felt like doing nothing,we went home with wonderful new memories.!

We had such a pleasant stay at Kondensmelk. The house is full of charm & very well equipped with everything you would need. We were warmly welcomed and Zelda went out of her way to accommodate our needs and help us settle in! We will definitely visit again!

Nice property that is very well kitted out. Sleeps 6 pax in 3 bedrooms. More than enough heating in the house and the fireplace is very effective. Kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed.

Nice but a bit cold
Nice, but a number of the listed facilities and appliances were not there or did not work (coffee maker, toaster, etc.).
A fire place would really have added to the vibe and warmed things up a bit. The cottage is very cold!

We already stayed twice at Kondensmelk Parys. It feels like coming home! It is a warm, neat house with everything you need. This house has personality!! You feel at home and does not want to leave! Very nice setting - we had everything we need. Cutlery, utensils,Good coffee and even a plunger. Heaters helped a lot and the house was neat and clean. We`ll be back.

A warm welcome to travel weary folks
Kondensmelk was our little home away from home for 2 nights. We had coffee and condensed milk as promised, slept comfortably, had all the necessary ameneties. Although Parys is noisy, with all the trucks passing in the main street, being tucked away amongst the trees, we were barely aware of them. Being woken by birdsong was bliss. The house was clean and tidy and small things like the throws on the couches, meant that late nite chats were cozy. We loved it, and could not have asked for more.
