Excellent value for money and ambience
Really enjoyed our overnight stay, especially the sumptuous dinner and friendly service. Will go back there!

Like the curate's egg - good in parts!
On arrival, we found the facility in the process of extensive renovations, with attendant noise and dust.
The check-in process was morose at best.
The room was clean and well-appointed, with attractive decor. However, the shower rose had disintegrated, giving off a solid stream of water. This defect was pointed out to the management, but I was very surprised that they did not know about it, as a cursory inspection would have revealed the problem.
When the renovations have been completed, Kingwills will be a good stop-over, as it has a delightful garden and a nice swimming pool. A major drawback is that the restaurant kitchen closes at 17:00!

Great stay
We stayed overnight at Kingswill Guest House in Dec 2014 on our way home from the Western Cape. The room was lovel, comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed a great dinner at the Karoo Deli that night. Safe parking was also provided. We will definitely be back.

Great for stopover
Room simple but clean and well equipped. Had dinner in the cafe. Good home cooked food which was very good.

Koel lafenis in die Karoo!
The service is excellent, very friendly people, delicious food, aircon in the room and my kids enjoyed the swimming pool to cool down after the long drive from the sea! The Karoo Deli is a gem and I've enjoyed shopping there!

Disappointing stayover in Victoria West
Our daughter and son-in-law spent a night at Kingwills in December and raved about the great buffet dinner that they had there and recommended them for our trip to Cape Town. Quaint accommodation in line with the price charged. Disappointing that as we were the only couple booked in that night, we were told that no dinner was available. Okay in a town with acceptable alternatives, however in Victoria West we were given two choices. The Merino Restaurant which from the outside is dirty with grubby PWD brown paint and loiterers hanging about with one passed out outside. The look of the place put us off so in fairness we did not go in or try their food. The second choice was "Die N12 Padstal" which is the equivalent of an old style small town cafe or modern truck stop, also with no curb appeal from outside or ambiance inside, but it was clean and the toasted cheese sandwiches and slap chips that we eventually had for supper were okay. Clive, the owner of Kingwills told us after dinner time that they would have provided us with a "bord kos" by prior arrangement. This is not on their website, nor were we told this when making our booking and paying our deposit or when checking in at 13h45. The DSTV was not working so we plugged the mosquito repellent widget in and turned in for an early night and much needed sleep. This was not to be as we were awakened by a squadron of mosquito's attacking us. Obviously the mosquito repellant widget was not working either as it was stone cold. We packed up at 05h30 and left at 06h00 skipping breakfast. There is nothing in Victoria West to ever lure us back even for a one night stopover. On future trips we will drive the extra 40 kilometers on the Loxton Road and book into Melton Wold for good Karoo hospitalty and food.

Pleasant stay
Hospitable managers who showed an interest in their guests. There were a few problems in the room which received attention, making for a pleasant stay.

Lovely
We had a lovely suite with everything we needed, including a little fridge and kettle.

Excellent value
This was our second visit and the standard of accommodation remains as high as ever. A real gem. There was no dinner available on the (Thursday) night we stayed there, but we were directed to an adequate bar/restaurant elsewhere in the town.

Halfway oasis
An incredible place that feels like home, complete with fluffy feeted chickens and dogs, not to mention the warm service of Nell, Clive and the rest of the family. Beautiful accommodation, amazing food and excellent conversation and care. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we'll be back.

Lovely place
We stayed over for one night on our way back to the Cape. The host was very sweet and even organised us dinner earlier as we where very tired from travelling. The family room was lovely, clean and warm, and we appreciated the home-made beskuit and juice too. The establishment has a lovely feel to it and is well worth a visit.
