K9 Cottage

A lovely cottage, well-equipped and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay there (although too short) and will certainly recommend K9 cottage to my friends and family

We really enjoyed our stay of 5 nights atvthe K 9 cottage. Enough room, comfortably furnished and equipped with all that is needed, this was a home away from home. We enjoyed the friendly people and the lovely scenery. Truly a place of peace and quiet. Loved the coffee shop, Uncle Sam's snoek and the Rooi Spinnekop. Would love to visit again

Our stay at K9 cottage was a lovely experience.  It was so well-equipped with dishwasher and washing machine, and everything we needed for self-catering.

We had a wonderful stay at K9 Cottage. It is very well equipped and even has a dishwasher! Will definitely recommend it to anybody!

Overall the house was good. But the braai was disgustingly dirty, broken and unusable. The washing machine was great. The bath\shower was not good. Neither was having an empty soap dispenser. The warm duvet was great. All in all a good place but needs more care to make it really good.

There is also a small Weber braai perfect for two people. The other braai was put there on request from the previous client. My fault that we did not remove it in time. We do NOT supply soap. The empty soap dispenser belongs to a previous client and was unfortunately not noticed otherwise it would have been removed!

Hondeklip Bay is ±180km from springbok if you take the route via komaggas (where the tar road stops and the dirt road begin) and koiingnaas. The first indication that you are on the right track is a signboard at a T-junction 20km from Hondeklip Bay. Hondeklip Bay took me by surprise, it is a small mainly coloured communitee with only one or two restaurants, bottle store and general dealer…for fuel and everything else the nearest town is Garies (88km dirt road away), so come prepared. I was taken by the peacefulness of the place, the beautiful white beaches and coastline, with two ship wrecks and a seal colony. Don’t be put off by the old buildings that don’t resemble much and probably last saw paint the day they were build, this place has a lot of heart and charm and the people are friendly. K9 Cottage allowed me a wonderful relaxing stay, this cottage has all you might need for a stay in the middle of nowhere, a washing machine and even a dishwasher. It is not on the beach front, but you can see the sea from this cottage and hear the waves at night and the light from the lighthouse, the beach is an easy stroll away. I spent my days just relaxing at the cottage reading, walking everywhere and taking photos, exploring the coastline and mingling with the locals. Hondeklip Bay is a special place…Namaqualand at the coast, it will definitely see me again.
