Ikhamanzi Bed and Breakfast
We spent one night at the b and b and
1) its along a road surrounded by very poor houses and drinking holes etc. The area is very dodgy
2) greeted by this fence and then electric fence on the top of it, and you have a panic button in each room.
3) the tv is the size of a computer screen and is placed above the door, so to see if you need binoculars.
Coming from JHB we didn't feels safe either getting to and from the venue nor at the actual venue
The owner was lovely as was our room (except for the tv) but nothing like the web site
Establishment Response:
I feel truly sad that you and your husband felt so unsafe here by us. We live since 2007 here and operate Ikhamanzi B&B since 2009. We never had any incident regarding crime and we accommodated already so many guests here from all over the world, plenty of them are coming back , actually liking the rural atmosphere and they find it quiet and peaceful here. Unfortunately I cannot move my property and therefore I will be unable to attend to your opinion in point 1 and 2.
On the TV problem I fully agree, it was a quick replacement by the insurance company when the old one was struck by lightning and I am already attending to this.
But thank you for your booking although Ikhamanzi was obviously in this case not the best choice for you.
Thank you. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Accommodation, breakfast and the environment were absolutely lovely. We will definitely see you in November again.
