Really in need of some renovation to the bedroom number 9 where we were and to the bathroom. The linen and towels were clean and fresh but the bedding needs renewing. Theyleave you to your own devices which is fine.

Whilst the rooms were comfortable and the people friendly, there was so much old junk lying around that one felt as if you were in a scrap yard.
The decor was old and tatty. I could not rate this place above a 2 star establishment.

Lovely little place
The guest house is beautiful. We had the privilege of staying in the new family room which was stunning. The owners and even the two lovely dogs were welcoming and friendly.
We will definitely stay over again on route to the Western Cape.

Nice place to stay
Good place to stay in Colesburg. Nice service and well maintained . Braai and proper self catering facility is missing at this location. Overall it is nice place for a night haul .

Clean, convenient but a bit unprofessional
The place is convenient, clean and calm for a one night sleep over but we had an uncomfortable experience. We booked 2 self catering units and we ended up getting two regular units which created a problem for us. The owner of the place apologized and indicated it was a human error on the booking side and gave us the main kitchen of the restaurant. But that was a bit uncomfortable for us as we reached late in the evening and also obviously could not prepare our breakfast.

Very nice and comfortable
The Herb Garden was a very welcome and comfortable stop over on a long drive from Cape Town to Johannesburg in the heat of summer. There is even a swimming pool if the temperature soars too high.

Everything we required were there. Three stars will earned if neater.
We really enjoyed the stayover, despite the overall impression of neglect. At this higher than normal price one would expect a much neater environment, for example the reception, the stoep and the swimming pool. The carpets and the upholstered furniture will also do with a thorough steam clean.
