Quiet weekend
Beautiful place, very conveniently placed. We had a fantastic time. Unfortunately there wasn't toilet paper in our room, and there weren't any matches for the gas stove. It definitely never ruined our trip, and can't wait to go back.

Elands Bay Beach Cottage
Elands is my favourite place on earth so I really don't mind where I stay as long as I am comfortable.
Just a few tips for anyone staying in Elands Bay Cottage. Firstly, it is not a cottage, but rooms. You pay for a room and share a kitchen with other people. If you want privacy be sure to request that. (we did and it was lovely) The upstairs area is out of bounds so you don't get to use the lovely stoep and see the beautiful sea view.
Secondly, the kitchen is not well equipped so take your own pots and pans, wine glasses, braaibak etc. This house is perfect for surfers but if you are a family and want to invite people for a braai, bring stuff! There is no microwave or oven so when you pack food, make sure you can prepare it on a gas stove.
Good qualities about the accommodation is it is in a lovely neighborhood. You can walk to the beach. It is quiet, uncomplicated and we sat on the stoep for hours. ( take your camping chairs ) It is a real beach house where you don't feel you have to clean your feet all the time before you walk in.We would stay there again. ( if the owners let us after this review. )

Multi functional family
If you're into a multi functional surfing family setup, this is for you. The area is quite noisy as well. If you're looking for some rest, perhaps consider another place with more comfy beds.

Excellent value for money
The accommodation is basic but very clean, the beds were comfortable and the owner very friendly. Definitely good value for money.

Not worth it
Not worth the money you pay. It is rather the bottom half of a privately owned cottage that seemed to be the dumping place for all the non usable items. Not clearly marked and would have been difficult to find had the owner not stayed over for the weekend. A shower door would have helped in the bathroom and proper braai facilities outside.

The bottom of the house is totally independent of the upstairs unit. All the cutlery is in good condition and most of it is new. The Weber braai can be used and I offered it to our clients. The beds are great and the bathroom huge (it does definitely not need a door) R 600 for a 5 bed unit a night was a special price for him and is definitely great value. The house is clearly marked as it it no 10 kreef street!

Seaside holiday with our dogs
Although I have given this 5 stars, its not 5 star accommodation. It's basic accommodation, but with a great location. Its very clean and it had everything we needed.
We wanted accommodation that we could take our dogs to. Although this property does not have a fence (and we were told about that in advance) it was perfect for us.
Stefan was in contact with us before, during and after our stay. Excellent, friendly communication and he made sure we had everything we needed.
For us, this was a perfect getaway & we'll be back. Thanks!
