Just what we wanted!
Had a short but lovely stay at Die Blou Nartjie, beds where really comfortable, very clean rooms and an awesome breakfast. I highly recommend a stay here

Beautiful room & Great food
You won't find better value for money in Calvinia. Friendly service, beautiful room, quiet street (i.e. not on one of the main roads), great restaurant ... overall a very enjoyable experience. Will definitely recommend and stay there again.

Guest units disappoint
The main house is beautifully restored and a treasure, however the separate guest units are a poor imitation. Cracks in the wall, disgusting grouting between the floor titles and a raw chipboard cupboard all scream cheap and nasty. Trendy decals and a tasteful colour scheme cannot hide the fact that the duvet cover had not been changed since the last guests' occupation. The full room rate was charged despite the fact I was travelling on my own. This was the only establishment I encountered on week's travel around the country that did this. You're spoilt for choice in Calvinia - look elsewhere.

Die Blou Nartjie is well worth staying at. The accommodation is excellent and it is complemented by the quality food and service of their restaurant. It is a place to stay for either a stop over to the Kgalagadi or a long weekend.

Only stayed one night on our way to Kgalagadi. Friendly welcome. Nice clean rooms. Unfortunately did not dine there but had drinks in the restaurant later in the evening. The food looked good and the atmosphere was pleasant after a long journey in heavy rain. Breakfast was excellent. Would stay again and dine in the evening.

Very comfortable guest house, beds comfortable and plenty of hot water. Made very welcome by the hostess, nothing was too much trouble.
The restaurant had an excellent limited menu, well prepared and presented.

Nice for staying overnight!
We stayed for one night, on our way to Cape Town. Nice for an overnight stay. Breakfast was also very nice the next morning before be left. Thanks for all the friendly people there.
