DeWit Farmhouse

This farmhouse is lovely, quiet and secluded, just the thing for a week or weekend away! All basics including towels and bed-linen are provided, although if you visit in summer you may want to bring along your own fly-traps and spray!

DeWit farmhouse equals peace and tranquility! The house is remote and secluded overlooking wide open spaces! The background noise of ‘silence’ was interrupted with the call of jackals. All the necessities are available to cook, braai, eat and sleep. For those who do not want to use a normal stove or microwave can test the old ‘koolstoof’. There are more than enough beds (10 in total). Thank goodness the owners did not spoil the feel, look and experience with a ‘black box’. Our sons explored the farm on their bicycles, went fishing, tested all the kettie and built an enormous camp fire. Note! Wood is supplied in surplus. Our hosts, Andre and his son Dandrè made us feel at home. With them we had an opportunity to test our accuracy while shooting ‘kleiduiwe’. Thank you for your hospitality and focussing on the basics. Renier and I had the most wonderful stay at Dewit Farmhouse! The house is beautiful and has the most stunning decorative signs and Nike naks. It felt like visiting family. The beds were so comfy and everything was pristine. Sadly we didn't get to use the fully equipped kitchen or the fire pit, but will definitely book again when we visit our friends in derby again! Big thanks to Andre and Estelle, they made us feel so welcome!

It was a pleasant relaxing stay in a restful stillness. The hosts were caring and attentive. Although it was cold it didn't matter because the hearth made the stay very cosy.

From the moment we arrived, we felt at home! Thank you so much for your warm welcome and notes... Loved the fire place, stove, braai/boma area and stoepie..!!
