Not suitable for those with mobility problems
Great space in the rooms. All very clean. Beds very comfortable. Dog friendly. Very steep drive from road to house. Suite 4 is down steps without a hand rail, or down the side of the property on a grass slope without rails and ill lit at night.

You booked suite 4 online, without discussing room options with me first. Had you mentioned that you had mobility issues, I would have recommended that you rather book one of our ground floor or wheelchair friendly suites. Suite 4 is our family suite and because it is situated in the garden, it is suitable for families who like privacy and a private garden for their children to play in.
With regard to our driveway being steep, by Umhlanga standards, it is not at all steep and we furthermore have no problems with the ingress and egress of motor vehicles.

Awesome stay in
Had a great stay in with my daughter. The room was decent and spacious. The venue was in a quiet and descent area close to everything we needed. Overall, we enjoyed the stay.

Comfortable and friendly
My brother, baby daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Chartwell. When we arrived, the camp cot had been set up, there was a high chair for the baby at breakfast, the breakfast was delicious, the room extremely comfortable and the service excellent.

Everything was great! The rooms were spacious and tastefully decorated. The breakfast had enough variety, and was consistent every morning. Bruce and the staff were especially friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again next time I am in the Durban area.
