Warm and friendly
We stopped overnight on 2 June and were warmly greeted by Gezina and Marcel. The house has an amazing history relating to the Jewish influence on Calvinia - a history we were not aware of. Gezina has made an impressive album and write up on the history and well worth reading. The breakfast was tasty. The room we had was comfortable but the bathroom was tight and anyone struggling with steps, not this room. Apart from that, can happily recommend Carmel Villa and the warmth of the owners. Easy to walk into town
