Bumblebees B&B

I dont have words for these people they made our stay a memorable one and I would recommend bumblebees to anyone. Thank you very much Allison and partner.

Oh my, what a wonderful B&B! From booking through to departure, Alison had excellent communication and was incredibly friendly and approachable. Her husband was away and she managed totally brilliantly, ably helped by her fabulous and friendly staff person. We felt incredibly welcome over our three nights at Bumblebee - it felt like a home away from home. The home was just lovely and very clean, with great touches of Africa. We had two double bedrooms, with large ensuites, that were both beautifully and tastefully decorated. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were fabulously soft. Lovely feather duvets but it was a tad too warm for me and a light blanket on the bed with a sheet from the cupboard was sufficient. Air conditioning and DSTV in the room, along with coffee and tea making facilities were available in the bigger room, as well as in the main living area. Breakfasts were from 7am-9am by the pool with continental and cooked options, and on Sunday, when a power cut was expected, we had a vast cold banquet as well as toast, croissants and coffee (as the power didn't in fact go off). There is a self service bar with a limited amount of drinks available and an honesty system for recording what is consumed. A great lounge with very comfortable furniture, and another TV room right next door that has some games available, including a late 80s British Trivial Pursuit travel set that was quite fun. The swimming pool was deliciously luke warm and a great way to freshen up during a slightly sticky Durban day. La Lucia mall is very close to the B&B and is a lovely place to wander through. Umhlanga Rocks is not far away and has some great restaurants. All in all a fantastic place to spend time when in KZN and we highly recommend it. We so plan to return next time we are in South Africa. Alison, we will be in touch sometime in the future!
