Private reserve next to Pilanesberg
We had a great time. We traveled with an 19-month old. The Black Rhino Game Lodge is not particularly child-friendly, but they were very accommodating. We took the little one in a game drive, even.
We would suggest the Lodge to make it clearer that this is a private reserve next to Pilanesberg park, but that the reserve is smaller and has less animals than Pilanesberg. And that the game drives do not go into Pilanesberg (you would have to stay at the Pilanesberg park to go on game drives there). The accommodation was superb (spacious, clean, modern and fitting), the food was very good and the service outstanding. The game drives were comfortable, all guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Please note that the pools are small, because of the lack of water in the area.

Heritage weekend 2012
We had a fantastic time at Black Rhino, more especially on the World Rhino Day. The guide "Hannes" is one of a kind with wealth of wildlife knowledge and a great sense of humour. We can't wait to return for another get away.
